But then, there are specific weights that are attributed to bikes. These motorcycles are designed exclusively for these purposes; in different brands, you can find the vehicle that best suits your needs.
Also, the suspension of the dirt bike is much harder. Its front fork has a shorter trip, a characteristic that makes it more agile but more unstable at high speeds, that is surmountable depending on the pilot’s skill. Among other differences, its rudder is more extensive, its seat position is much lower, and its brakes have more perforations for more cooling.
What exactly is the ideal weight for an average dirt bike, and how can it be achieved?
1. Yamaha YZ 125 – 207 pounds/ 94 kg
The Yamaha YZ125 is an ideal motorcycle to start in motocross and the most experienced to enjoy the joy of its 125 cc 2T engine, equipped with the Yamaha YPVS exhaust valve, a gearbox with six ratio gears.
An inverted KYB fork with 48mm bars stands out in the suspension section. This is the same material used by 4T models and comprises an open-air/oil system that prevents air from penetrating the cartridge. The valve versions also receive the rear damping system, which gets a new swingarm and a different shock absorber. The footrests are wide enough that the rider achieves an aggressive position and achieves excellent control. The chassis is like that of the 250 2T, a dual semi-cradle made of aluminum, very light, which delivers weight of 94 kg.
2. Kawasaki KX250F – 223 pounds/ 101 kg
Kawasaki renews its KX250F after a couple of years with hardly any changes to its little motocross 4T. The changes introduced to affect the motor, now more powerful, and the cycle part. The new cylinder of the KX250F has a larger diameter, but less stroke, which allows for more brilliant lap climbs, one of the objectives of this edition.
The announced power increase is especially noticeable from 10,000 rpm. 5. Suzuki RM-Z450 – 247 pounds/ 112kg

The brakes are still Magura, parts that were introduced as a novelty in 2018. The aluminum swingarm has an adjustment range with an additional 5 mm, so the wheelbase can be increased to achieve more stability on fast tracks.
As for the engine, the Husqvarna FC 350 mounts a mighty -58 HP- and light -27.2 kg- propeller with broadband of useful revolutions power. It has an electric start, traction control, and a system for selecting power maps on the handlebars.
